McCall - 2010

Well our annual fishing trip -2010- is over. I am always so sad when it is. We always have such a great time and I am already counting the days until next year. The weather didn't cooperate much but after the heat of St. George it actually was a welcome relief. I just felt bad for the girls and kids cause they couldn't do as much while the guys and I were off fishing. It will take a few posts to get all my pics in - however - I didn't take as many this year as I have in the past. The area is just beautiful. Ron and I had some shopping at Costco in Boise so the boys and their families got to McCall a little before we did. Our first morning started out going to the local fly shop to get any information about the rivers. It was about 9:00 a.m. and when we got to the shop it looked really dark inside. Bryan commented that he couldn't believe that the fly shops in Idaho don't open until after 10:00 a.m. and how dumb that is because most fisherman like to get going earlier than that. Anyway, Ron got out of the car and walked up to the door and it opened so he said "Guess they are just trying to have some mood lighting". So we all got out and walked into the shop. I was checking out some really cute pants and Bryan,Clint and Ron were looking at some of the rods they had when we realized that there was no one in the store. Bryan checked the side door and it was locked. We decided that they had just forgotten to lock the front door when they left the night before. Well, we left quickly and went across the street to the hardware store and asked the clerk if she would call someone. So off we went to get our fishing license. Bryan had gone up to McCall the week before to check out some spots that we might want to fish.We decided to fish the South Fork of the Salmon River the first morning. It was quite a drive to get there. Then we walked along the road a little over a mile. We saw some pretty fresh bear poo and of course had to check it out. Bryan needs to change careers. He was very interested in that bear poo. In fact he got right down - up close and personal - to check out what that bear had been eating. I felt quite safe after he said it was mostly seeds and berries - nothing human. Yay!!!

HOOKED!!!!!!

The assistant pro's at Coral Canyon are a couple of great golfers and just good guys. They have really helped me out alot with golf and Ron as well. Casey qualified to golf in the Nationwide Tour at Willow Creek Country Club in September. His wife is due with their first child about the same time so we will watch and see how that all plays out. Anyway, Casey has flyfished before but doesn't have a lot of time to do it - and with a new baby - this may be his last. Kash is just starting out. Ron had him over at the golf course ponds teaching him the basics and seems like he created a monster. Everytime I am over there Kash is looking for lakes to fish. He is on cloud 9 with this new sport. Well, last week they planned a trip to Panguitch Lake. They were going to leave at 4:00 am so I said that I would pass. They had a great time and Ron came back with some funny stories. He said that Kash came with a couple of gallon size baggies in case he wanted to keep one and Ron said" What? Who do you think you are fishing with?" I guess he thought he would need a much bigger bag and from the looks of the fish they caught, he was right.

Casey and Kash in the "float tubes".
Don't they look good floating around in those pretty pink lilies?

Casey's Tiger Trout!

Kash said " This is more fun than a hole in one!"

Guess Ron will be fishing a lot more - and I will be fishing less - now that he has some new fishing buddies. Maybe they will let me tag along - if they will leave at a more reasonable hour!!!

New Camera??????

Golfing with my camera!

Hawaii with my camera!

Hiking with my camera!

Biking with my camera!

Snorkeling with my camera!

I really, really, really, want one. I have been thinking about getting a new camera for a while now. I found the one that I want but I really don't know if I can justify (okay - I can justify about anything) but anyway, I really don't know if I would be silly in getting it when the one I have is perfectly fine. After all, it took a picture that made it into the Wyoming Wildlife Magazine - 1 of 45 out of almost 2600 pictures. That is pretty good! It has been with me as I almost lost my life - well - could have - climbing "Angels Landing". It had a wonderful time with me in Hawaii a couple of years ago. It has been very well mannered - easy going - other than a couple of outbursts - has not talked back much. It still looks great - no nicks or scratches! The one I want will do so much more - but will it make me truly happy? HMMMMMMM! I don't know. Besides, I will need to save for the new one - sell the old on ebay or ksl - and unless I just throw caution to the wind and drive down to Costco and just get it and hope that Ron doesn't notice the huge American Express balance - I will have some time to continue to think about it.

Leaving Missoula

Mom and Dad left for church and then we cleaned the house really well before leaving ourselves.
We wanted to get everything done so that they could come home and not have to wash sheets, towels or do any cleaning at all from our month there. I really "LOVE" those two. They are just so cute. They have been wonderful parents! Even tho I get alot of "eyerolling" in while I am there I wouldn't change a thing - except maybe - making them be less stubborn in letting anyone help them. I love this old school in Humphries. We drive by it on the trip home and I have always wanted to stop and take a picture before it is taken - or falls down.

While I was moving the pictures around on this post - I noticed that this one made mom look like she was getting into the car with us at Subway in Idaho Falls. I wish she would have been. It was so sad leaving Mom and Dad this time - even more than usual.

The "Blue Angels" were putting on a show in Idaho Falls.
