Winter garden update

We have been watching and waiting for any sign of life in our garden but nothing...

...until today. Little lettuces and peas. We will be eating them by Thanksgiving. Next year maybe a pumpkin.

Veggies in December

We decided to build a small veggie garden. We had a place way off in our side yard where a bush had died and thought it would be a great place. It won't hold much but - enough for a salad or two.

Cedar Breaks

Last week we packed up our fishing gear and lunch and drove up past Parawon to look for a lake that Ron heard had great fishing. We were suppose to turn onto the Boyscout Camp road but when we got there it was chained closed for the season. There was a side road that we never could find so we drove up through Brian Head and looked around and then up to Cedar Breaks. It was amazing!!!

Pine Mountain

The temps are finally cooling enough that we can get out hiking again.
We decided to attemt to summit Pine Mountain at 10,365 ft. today.
The sign says 3 miles but it is straight uphill. The climb was brutal - steep,
rocky, steep, overgrown and did I mention steep?

The fall colors were fabulous.

The views looking back toward Zion were beautiful.

Half-way up.

Quail and Sand Hollow reserviors in the distance.

Climbing higher and higher.

A view from about a mile from the summit...

Which is where we turned around and started back down.
